JOBURG PRIDE SCOOPS MAJOR SPONSORSHIPS

Joburg Pride announced on Friday that it has secured two substantial sponsorships for the 2008 Gay Pride Festival.
Douglas Green Bellingham’s (DGB) Flex Bender spirit brand will be the event’s primary sponsor while national hit music radio station 5FM has come on board as Joburg Pride’s official media partner for a second year running.

“Love, Not Hate” theme to highlight hate crimes crisis
The Joburg Pride Board has revealed the theme for the anticipated 2008 event, scheduled for October, at its Annual General Meeting in Johannesburg on Saturday 10th May.

Johannesburg, 6 October 2007 - An estimated five thousand gays and lesbians – and their friends and families – turned out for the 18th annual Joburg Pride Parade in Rosebank, Johannesburg, today despite the inclement weather.

Joburg will be painted a bright shade of pink, with the help of 5FM, this Saturday 6 October when the city celebrates Gay Pride in style with the 18th Annual Joburg Pride Parade and Party in the Park. And best of all, it's all free!

Calling for Floats and Gay Pride Week Events
The JOBURG PRIDE organisers have called on community organisations and gay and gay-friendly businesses to submit their applications for floats or vehicles that will be included in the Parade, which will wind its way through the streets of Rosebank.
PRIDE TO COME OF AGE IN ROSEBANK

The chic suburb of Rosebank has been chosen to host the eighteenth Joburg Gay and Lesbian Pride celebrations. The 'Coming of Age' street parade will be held on Saturday 6 October 2007, followed by a festive ‘mardi gras’ and celebrations at Zoo Lake Sports Club.
